“Nature is Healing.”
“Nature is the best medicine.”

Nicolas Vomvas, Umiujaq Expedition 1998

Our organisation was born out of a desire to make nature accessible to teenagers living with cancer, to allow them to discover that they can experience exceptional adventures and accomplish great things. By participating in these uncommon expeditions, within the limits of their strength, they discover new horizons, other cultures, and reinforce their confidence in life and in themselves; they come to understand that they can be stronger than the disease no matter what challenges it imposes upon them.

Grandiose and wild, nature unveils for us the richness of life, its strength, its greatness. The modest flowers of the tundra are so delicate that they remind us that beauty can be found in the smallest of realisations, as well as the greatest; the ant that climbs a flower is just as beautiful and grand as the explorer looking to reach a summit.

Through the Internet, and other media, On the Tip of the Toes wants to give all youth living with cancer and their families a chance to follow, step by step, the adventures of those who participate in these therapeutic expeditions, so that they may be inspired by those wonderful moments, and renew their strength.
